This past weekend I signed copies of The Elf Girl at the Strawberry Festival in Cedarburg through Creekside Books. I had a blast! I was there for two days, Saturday 3-5pm and Sunday 11-1pm. The weather was perfect, the crowd was huge, and I had an amazing time talking to complete strangers about writing, Ramsey, and The Elf Girl. Family stopped by as well, which was wonderful because I love having their support. But what really had me excited was meeting so many new readers. By the end of my signing on Sunday, I had sold 39 books, with the 40th left over to be sold in the bookstore. I broke the signing record for Creekside books! I can't believe how great the turn out was. It was simply a wonderful experience and I hope to be back for Cedarburg's Harvest Fest in September. My next event isn't scheduled until August (Waukesha Art Crawl, Aug 6th), so I have a break after such a busy June. But I really don't mind being so busy, because these events are ones I've dreamt about ever since I decided I wanted to become a writer.
